Work Required for a B

In order to be eligible for a grade of B going into the final, you must complete all required Weekly pCLUEs and Grammar Worksheets, receive a 32 or higher on the Secure CLUE, meet the attendance requirement, write 9 Process Journal entries, cover letters for all Main Assignments submitted for a grade, and complete the following work from each workshop.

Workshop 1

1. Activities 1-6
2. choose two from the following:
   • Activity 7 (250 words)
   • Activity 8 (300 words)
   • Activity 9 (250 words; this must be on a Wilber chapter)
   • Activity 10 (250 words)
   • Activity 11 (250 words)
3. Main Assignment (400 words)

Workshop 3

1. Activities 1-2
2. choose three from the following essay genres in “Step Two: Trying Out Genres” (starts on page 59)
   • Persuasive Essay (250 words)
   • Expository Essay, which includes the following types:
     • Analysis Essay (250 words; Wilber would be a good choice)
     • Definition Essay (250 words)
     • Compare-Contrast Essay (250 words)
     • Process Essay (250 words)
     • Research Essay (250 words; Wilber would be a good choice)
     • Five-Paragraph Essay(250 words)
   • Meditation Essay (250 words)
3. Main Assignment (choose an expository essay, 400 words)

Workshop 4

1. Activity 1 (on Wilber; at least 300 words)
2. Activity 2 (on Wilber; at least 300 words)
3. Main Assignment (either focused collage or essay, 400 words)

Workshop 5

1. Three separate drafts of your paper on Wilber from Workshop 4 (the first two must be brought to class for peer review), one at the end of each of the following stages:
   • First-level revising: reseeing or rethinking; changing the bones (pp. 124-5); THREE COPIES DUE at start of class Friday, 3/25.
   • Second-level revising: reworking or reshaping; changing the muscles (pp.125-6); THREE COPIES DUE at start of class Wednesday, 3/30.
   • Third-level revising: copyediting or proofreading; changing the skin (p. 126)
2. Main Assignment, which is the same as the final draft above (500 words, on Wilber)
   

Workshop 9

Main Assignment I, which must include/use/draw from some aspect of Wilber's theories. This Assignment will be in three parts:

1. Freewriting on at least three separate (though they can be related) topics (p.230).
2. First draft, to be due in class for peer review. THREE COPIES DUE at start of class Friday, 4/8. (200 words)
3. Letter to the Editor (300 words). DUE at start of class Monday, 4/11.

Workshop 11

Research Paper, using Wilber's integral theory. This assignment will be in three parts:

1. Bibliography. DUE Friday, 4/15. Please see assignment sheet for Bibliography guidelines.
2. First Draft. THREE COPIES DUE at the start of class Friday, 4/22. See assignment sheet for details.
3. Final Draft (1000 words minimum). DUE Wednesday, 4/27. See assignment sheet for details.

Workshop 12

Final Portfolio. This is simply the final presentation of all the work you have done in class, presented as professionally as possible. See me if you have any questions.
